Running equipment is not the same as proper cooling
A central AC or ductless system can turn on and still fail to remove heat and humidity. Lewis Superior looks at airflow, coil condition, controls, electrical components, refrigerant symptoms, compressor operation, drainage, and overall equipment condition before recommending the next step.
A system can run continuously without delivering proper cooling. Airflow restrictions, dirty coils, electrical issues, controls, refrigeration problems, equipment condition, and improper sizing can all contribute.
Good air conditioning should improve both temperature and indoor comfort. System sizing, airflow, runtime, and equipment operation influence how well moisture is removed from the home.
Equipment age, refrigerant type, recurring repair costs, part availability, comfort, efficiency, and the condition of indoor and outdoor components all factor into the decision.
Cooling performance depends on the whole system
Restricted airflow can leave rooms uncomfortable and make equipment work harder than it should. Refrigerant symptoms should be diagnosed carefully; simply adding refrigerant is not a proper long-term fix if a leak or equipment problem exists.
Filters, indoor coils, blower operation, duct restrictions, closed registers, and return-air issues can all reduce comfort before the outdoor unit is blamed.
If refrigerant is low, there may be a leak or another system problem. Understanding why it is low matters more than a quick top-off.
The condenser, indoor coil, blower, thermostat, wiring, and drainage all affect whether the home feels cool and dry.
